A relaxed Sunday lunch in Iberica restaurant

Out of the dreary London drizzle and into Iberica, a Spanish restaurant a stone throw from Farringdon station

I love the interior!

Our very kind friend Alasdair treated us to this marvellous meal in a marvellous place.

There had been promises of cured jamon serrano and Idiazabal cheese. There had been talk of black rice with prawns. And hushed voices had spoken reverently of homemade churros and chocolate.

A lovely and attentive waitress got us started with asparagus tempura. Delicious.

Followed by that most Spanish of Spanish dishes - tortilla de patatas.

Here comes that black rice!

How could a meal in a Spanish restaurant be complete without Paella:

And lastly, a por los churros! We made a heroic effort, because we just could not leave without having finished our meal with those little beauties:

After this, not even the downpour which awaited us outside was able to (quite literally) dampen our spirits.
